About The Dragon Inn

This page will give information on the following:

History

The building was built circa 1750 and opened as "The George".  The name was changed in Victorian times to "The George and Dragon" and then became the "The Dragon Inn" in 1987.

The Dragon Inn has been a real ale pub listed in the CAMRA "Good Beer Guide" for over 15 years and the last two additions of "The Good Cider Guide."

Current Building & Services

The Dragon Inn is a Grade II listed Georgian town building.  There is a covered drinking area to the rear of the pub, with alot of outside seating.  Perfect for a warm summer's evening!  Well behaved children are always welcome, (as are dogs on leads).

The Staff

The Dragon Inn is run by a very small team consisting of:

Richard:  The ever-so slightly grumpy owner of the premises, chief cellar man and beer aficionado.   Don't ask him to serve you the stuff though....and don't ask for Guinness or Lager!

Sharon:  'She who must be obeyed' The boss!  And that's all your getting.

Andy:  Our evenings man...

Catherine:  Fantastic chef & a woman who certainly knows her beers....

Darcy:  Our latest recruit...

What The Dragon Is All About

We always offer a wide range of excellent and unusual beers, stouts, ciders and perries.  Generally there are 6 different real ales including, one stout or porter and one real cider or perry.

Beers are sourced from independent breweries, the regulars being Cannon Royall Brewery, Church End Brewery, Salamander Brewery,  Malvern Hills Brewery, Pictish Brewery and Stonehenge Ales. Other frequent appearances are made by beers from Abbeydale Brewery, Beowulf Brewing Company, Mighty Oak Brewing Company, Millstone Brewery, Kinver Brewery, Salopian Brewery and Teme Valley Brewery.

Ciders  and Perries also come from smaller independent producers, common suppliers being  Knights Cider, Rich's Farmhouse Cider and Thatchers Cider.
